Kara Linder's Senior Project: MCI
On March 20th, 2010, there was a Mass Casualty Incident Training at the Washington Depot Firehouse. This was for Kara Linder's Senior Project for Shepaug High School. Over 75 people from various Ambulance Corps and Fire Departments participated. The scenario was an accident, truck versus a school bus with children. The group practiced triage, extrication, communication, and organizational skills. By all accounts, it was very successful with great feedback and debriefing. Please CLICK HERE FOR PICTURES.

2009: Year in Review
2009 was another exciting year for Washington Ambulance. We great additions to our roster, conducting recertification classes, and sponsored new EMT classes. The Officers wish to extend their gratitude to all of the members for all of their efforts throughout 2008. We look forward to an even better 2009! Aspirin & Glucometer
Attached is the Powerpoint presentation regarding Aspirin Administration that has been approved by New Milford Hospital. Please review. When you click on the link, it will take you to another page. Important highlights:
Indications: Chest Pain, suggestive of cardiac ischemia and/or infarction.
Contraindications:Allergy or hypersensitivity to salicylates (aspirin, wintergreen), GI Bleeding, Active ulcer disease, Hemorrhagic stroke, Bleeding disorders, Children with cold and flu-like symptoms.
Drug Interactions: Decreased effects with antacids and steroids.
Special Considerations:Pregnancy Category D, not to be used in pregnant women, unless under direct medical oversight.
Dosage:Chewable tablets (“Baby Aspirin”) 81mg each for a total dose of 324mg (4 chewtabs).
